The Exhibition of Tove and the archipelago showed how the local archipelago and sea appears in her art. The Exhibition was held at the Art Factory in Porvoo, Finland during the summer of 2014.
During the summer over 10 000 visitors from all over the world visited the exhibition. This video is from the last day of the exhibition on the 30th of August.
The Exhibition was a part of the Tove Jansson’s 100th anniversary celebration.
The exhibition Tove and the Archipelago is opening on the 11th of July 2014
On Friday the 11th of July 2014 will the exhibition Tove and the Archipelago open. The exhibition is held in the Art Factory. Preparations are going on and all material is collected. Building the exhibition will start in the beginning of week 28.
Thanks to gracious cooperation with Tove’s family and other helpful private persons, the gallery neighboring the church of Loviisa has the opportunity to show unique paintings, photographs and other material – some of which have never been displayed before.
A number of new stories by about Tove are also presented – Tove had many friends and acquaintances in the archipelago.
Special events are arranged during the summer and autumn, not the least for children and young people. Tove’s birthday on August 9th will be an extra festive day, celebrated with interviews and storytelling by Tove’s family and local friends – plus suprises! Quite in Tove’s spirit.

Inside the magazine there is a twelve-page article in which with the help of beautiful pictures describes both Tove Jansson and Finland as a destination. A significant part of the article focuses on the archipelago’s culture as an inspiration for Tove. Life in the islands is described with the help of entrepreneurs, who live and work in the archipelago.
